***Roulote da GiGi reopened on March 2, 2019, with a full menu, expanded kitchen, comfortable seating, a new roof, and a bathroom.***
GiGi repurposed parts of the former food truck, including the cheeky use of the seats from the cab The new roof glows under fairy lights, and the windows open to show the new kitchen inside
We watched GiGi’s food truck gather customers over several months before we ventured in…and found our weekly pizza fix! A transplant from Paris, GiGi developed her own style of pie with a snapping-thin crust, just the right amount of toppings, and a certain je ne sais quoi. She creates homemade condiments and select entrees, along with calzones and salads for lighter appetites. And, bien sûr, she serves a yummy croques-monsieur!
The pizza pequena italiana at GiGis with fresh arugula Always wanting mais vinho, por favor! Bruschettas make for a smaller bite for a petisco or snack at GiGi’s
We have our pizzas and copos do vinho for less than €25 and catch up with friends who stop by as they market. During winter, Roulote da GiGi is open Friday through Monday, with more open hours in the summer. Outdoor seating and cash only…and she has only one pizza oven, so when she’s busy, there can be a bit of a wait–though the larger kitchen space should help this, as it enables her to have another set of hands working behind the scenes. Worth stopping by to see for yourself…
